YAMOUSSOUKRO: OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE 3RD EDITION OF THE ANGODA FESTIVAL

On Friday, August 28, 2026, the official opening ceremony of the 3rd Angoda Festival was held in the Yamoussoukro City Hall. The festival's theme was "Baoulé Women, Pillars of a Society of Values," and it took place under the patronage of His Excellency Nanan Boigny N'Dri III, Chief of the Akouè Canton and Minister-Governor of the Yamoussoukro Autonomous District.
This edition aims to celebrate and honor Ivorian women, particularly Baoulé women, guardians of values ​​and traditions.
The ceremony was attended by Her Majesty the Queen Mother, who traveled from Sakassou, as well as numerous political, administrative, and traditional authorities. Following the artistic performances and the libation ceremony led by Nanan Kouamé Basile, Chief of N’Gokro, various speeches were given, notably by Mr. Beugré Wilson, representing the Mayor of Yamoussoukro, who conveyed greetings and a welcome to the entire assembly, as well as the Mayor's best wishes to the organizers and participants of the festival.
Next, Mr. Jean-François Konan, General Commissioner of the Angoda Festival, expressed his profound gratitude to the various dignitaries, partners, and all those who contributed to the success of this 3rd edition. He emphasized that this initiative represents both a source of cultural pride and a commitment to promoting Baoulé heritage and values.
A conference led by Mr. Vincent Koffi also highlighted the role of Baoulé women in the transmission of values, education, and social cohesion. Speaking at the event, His Excellency Nanan Boigny N’Dri III congratulated the organizers and encouraged the women to remain women of principle, while also calling on men to respect and value them.
He concluded with these words:
“When a woman succeeds, it is not just one woman who succeeds. It is a generation that wins.” The ceremony ended with a group photo, immortalizing this cultural event dedicated to women and Baoulé values.
