Official visit of a Guadeloupean delegation to the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro

A Guadeloupean delegation made an official visit to the Office of the Minister Governor this Wednesday, December 6, 2023 with a view to presenting its greetings to him. The delegation was received by the Director General of Administration, Mr. Anicet Kouassi.

The delegation was made up of 12 students and 5 supervisors, led by Ms Evely Paulino Biras Operational Director of the Guadeloupe Campus and Ms Tanoh Anick Mireille Deputy Director in charge of external relations of the Lycée Hôtelier d'Abidjan.

For clarification, the delegation arrived in Ivory Coast as part of an educational cooperation project between the Lycée Professionnel Hôtelier de la Riviera and the Campus des Métiers et des Qualifications de la Gouadeloupe.

Knowing the tourist and cultural attractions that the city of Yamoussoukro, city of Houphouet Boigny, Founding Father of the Ivory Coast, abounds, it was appropriate for these young students and supervisors to mark a visit there.

After the pleasantries at the Office of the Minister Governor, the delegation visited the Félix Houphouët Boigny Foundation, the caiman lake and the Notre-Dame de la Paix Basilica.

The next day, Thursday, December 7, 2023, the delegation went to the premises of the Directorate of Agriculture of the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro to firstly greet the Director Mr. Jean-Pierre Assoumou and his team and secondly to go to a cocoa plantation .

Mr. Assoumou offered them caps to soften the sun during the plantation visit and chocolate because Ivory Coast is the leading producer of cocoa in the world and also as a souvenir of their visit to the District.

After the plantation visit with the entire team from the Department of Agriculture, the delegation went to the Yamoussoukro bakery and pastry school. The visits ended in the afternoon around 3 p.m.

The delegation has fond memories of Yamoussoukro, saying thank you to the Minister Governor, Augustin THIAM for the warm welcome given to him, without forgetting the communication service which put everything in place to facilitate his stay in Yamoussoukro.
