OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE MINISTER OF HYDRAULIC, SANITATION AND SANITATION

This Friday, January 5, 2024, a delegation from the Ministry of Hydraulics, Sanitation and Sanitation, led by the Chief of Staff, Mr. Diomandé DRISSA, went to the Regional Prefecture for a meeting.



The meeting took place, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., in the presence of the city authorities and the various stakeholders in the organization of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (CAN) which will be held in Yamoussoukro and other other cities in Ivory Coast.



The 5th Vice Governor, Mr. Félix KOUASSI represented the Minister Governor Augustin THIAM. After the usual greetings, he gave the floor to Mr. Alyman KOISSI, Director of Environment and Sanitation of the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro, to say a little more about the District's commitments.



Mr. Alyman KOISSI, taking the floor, reminded the audience that the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro is part of the Supervisory Committee of the Yamoussoukro Lakes Rehabilitation Project. Recently, the 4th meeting of the said Committee was held. The Ivorian Antipollution Center (CIAPOL) is currently maintaining the Yamoussoukro lakes at the initiative of Minister Governor Augustin THIAM, who, in his time, presented to the Council of Ministers, the inventory of the lakes and proposed solutions. measures for their cleaning and restoration. The maintenance of the lakes, by CIAPOL, will be reinforced during the CAN period from January to February 2024. The Regional Director of Sanitation said that 2000 precarious shelters were destroyed and that the economic operator is in the process of disposing of trash cans for the occasion.



Mr. Diomandé DRISSA requested that the cleaning products be deposited at the landfill. He also left firm instructions requesting that all operations stop from Wednesday January 10, 2024 to avoid disorder in the city.



The Secretary General, Mr. Kouadio representing the Regional Prefect, Prefect of the Department of Yamoussoukro, proposed that the capacity of the surveillance brigade be strengthened.



The meeting ended with a visit to the different sites.
