34th edition CAN 2023

This Friday, February 16, 2024, a delegation from the FIF went to Yamoussoukro to present the trophy of the 34th edition of CAN 2023 to the Boigny family. This delegation led by the President of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF), Mr. Idriss DIALLO, was marked by the presence of Mr. Kalou Bonaventure, Arouna DINDANE, Emese Faé and many others. The Minister Governor, dressed as a traditional Chief, welcomed them with the Regional Prefect, Prefect of the Department of Yamoussoukro, the Mayor of the Commune of Yamoussoukro and all the village Chiefs representing the large Canton Akouè and Nanafouè.

After the pleasantries, the Minister Governor, Nanan Boigny N'dri III, Head of the Akouè Canton, took the floor to congratulate the elephants of Côte d'Ivoire and the FIF for this victory. he welcomed this approach of recognition to the First President of Côte d’Ivoire, Félix Houphouet Boigny.

The FIF came to bow at the grave of President Houphouët to ask him to pray for the national team in order to achieve victory, before the match between it and the Senegal national team. After having reached the round of 16 stage, the FIF once again returned to the family vault of Boigny to entrust it with the quarter-final stage. Ivory Coast against Mali won their match to qualify for the semi-final and then the final. She then won the final. It was really appropriate for the FIF to take this step of recognition towards President Félix Houphouët Boigny and his family.
